Each Way Combined Staking Plan
The Each Way Combined Staking Plan is a combination of backing the winner outright and placing an each way bet. The ratio is set by your self as to how much is placed on each bet. To explain this in more detail a screenshot of the EW Combined Settings in TSM is shown below.

The initial stake is shown as a percentage of the start bank. So in this instance the total initial is stake is :
Start Bank * 2% = Initial Stake ———– 100/100 * 2 = 2
The next setting is the Win Only Ratio. This is set as 40%. This means that the remaining EW bet must be 60%.
Using 2 as the initial total stake this equates to :
Initial Stake * 40% = Win Only Stake ———- 2/100 * 40 = £0.80
Initial Stake * 60% = EW Only Stake ——— 2/100 * 60- = £1.20
In the picture below we can see how this works on a winning bet where the horse finishes first. £0.80 is backed to win and £1.20 is bet each way. In total £2 is staked.

This comprises of a Single Win Bet and then a separate EW Way Bet.
First Bet (SINGLE WIN BET) of £0.80
Single Win Bet Stake * Odds -1 = Profit ————– £0.80 * (9-1) = £6.4
Second Bet (EW BET) of £1.20 (2 Bets of £0.60)
Second Bet Part A (Win)
Stake * Odds-1 = Profit ——— £0.60 * (9-1) = £4.8
Second Bet Part B (Place)
Stake * (Odds-1)/4 = Profit ——— £0.60 * ((9-1)/4) = £1.2
Second Bet Profit = £4.8 + £1.2 = £6.0
Total Combined Profit = First Bet (SINGLE WIN BET) Profit + Second Bet Part A Profit + Second Bet Part B Profit
£12.4 = £6.4 + £4.8 + £1.2
Frequently Asked Questions
Answer: The Each Way Combined Staking Plan splits your total stake into two separate bets: a Win Only bet and an Each Way bet. You choose the ratio (e.g. 40% Win Only / 60% Each Way). This gives you higher profit if the selection wins outright, while still providing a place return.
Answer:
- Start Bank – Your initial betting bank
- Total Stake % – The overall percentage of bank used (applied to both parts combined)
- Win Only Ratio % – How much of the total stake goes to the Win Only bet (remaining % goes to Each Way)
In addition we can also edit:
- Place Dividend – Usually 1/4 or 1/5
Answer: Each Way Level uses the same fixed stake on both Win and Place. Each Way Combined splits the total stake between a pure Win Only bet and a separate Each Way bet, giving stronger returns on outright winners while retaining place protection.
Answer: Yes — it is very versatile and works well for most Each Way systems. It is especially effective for selections with good win chances but where you still want some place insurance.
