I have been saving the master table files into my documents folder as TSM files quite successfully in the past.
But today I am unable to save any files?.
Sometimes I get a message this file with the same name exists do you want to overwrite it?, even though I know the file is not already saved in my documents folder as a TSM file. So I answer yes, then when I look the file is not there when I try to load it?.

Have I somehow corrupted my copy of the TSM software?.

When I was entering data into the the master table manually I realized that I had entered the same bet twice and I could not delete that row, maybe this is what corrupted my TSM software?.

What happens if you try saving to a different folder ? I wouldn't of thought TSM would be corrupted.

Right click the row with the mouse should bring up an option to delete the row/bet ? If it doesn't work first time, reset things by updating the results grid and trying again.

Hi Support,

I tried your suggestion of saving the file to another folder, I saved it to my desktop and it worked.

Now if I move this file to the " my documents folder" will this work?.
Yes it did,

So do I have to save all my TSM master table files to the desktop and then
move them to the my documents folder from now on?.

Also thanks for the tip of right clicking on the row to either insert or delete a row in the master table, I was unaware of this feature before.

Hi again Support,

I just tried to save a TSM master file to the " my documents folder" and it still will not save it there.

Why is this, as it always did before?.

Hi Support,

Now I cannot save the file in the TSM format in desktop or a new folder I made in C:\ drive called " TSM files "?.

What is going on here?, it has me completely baffled.

If your using vista or windows 7 try running TSM in administrator mode ?

Also - what is the exact message you are getting when you are unable to save the file ?

Cheers

This is the wording of the message I received when I tried to save the TSM file

" FILE C:\ TSM files\horsetorque lays less than 8.1 to sat 100710 already exists do you want to replace it? "
There are two boxes beneath this message one with YES and one with NO on them to click on.

I tried to copy this message but it would not let me highlight it for copying.

Can I insert screen shots in these messages?

BTW I am using windows XP home edition service pack 3 OS.
with windows office 2007.

Hi

You can email us pics directly admin @ thestakingmachine . com (take out the spaces).

What message appears when you hit yes ? And what appears when you hit no ?

I'm at a loss at the moment. I'm hoping something twigs soon !
I'll research possible causes later tonight. But at the moment i really dont think it is a TSM issue. ( but i maybe wrong )

Hi Support,

When one clicks on the YES or NO buttons no message appears.

It seems now that I have resolved the problem I have in saving the TSM files.

It appears that when I was repeatedly trying to save the same file as a TSM file the operating system was saving the file as a different type, while I was all the time looking only for TSM files.

So as you said the TSM software is not corrupt but it was only me not understanding what was going on.

I thank you for your patience and help much appreciated.

Well that is still a bit odd becuase when you load or save a TSM file from within the software the ONLY extension it offers is a .TSM. I'll have another look at that later in the week !
Good stuff..

Hi Support,

I am still getting this problem.

I now think it could be related to long file name I save them with.

So next time I will try to shorten the file name and see if this fixes it?.

You might want to try it yourself?.

The file name is

horsetorque lays less than 8.1 to wed 140710

Do you know what windows maximum number of characters in filename is?.

Chal4oye

I'm slightly confused as this thread is pretty old now !
Are you having trouble saving your data ? If so what is the problem ?

The problem the original user had was that his computer was saving the TSM file as another type of file. So his file may look something like test.TSM.pdf or test.TSM.doc
