What does 'E' mean after a number?

Postby DeepJoy » Wed Jun 20, 2007 11:43 pm

E.g., when TSM shows this:-

2.34257E+07

I would guess that it's something to do with 'to the power of', but exactly what?

I know it's an academic point - because the sum of money needing to be wagered to win the above amount would never be matched - just curious.

Thanks
