Auto Dutch in TSM - Easy Way to Find Out if You Should be Dutching Multiple Selections
I was doing some research last night on a Selection System whilst using our built-in Greyhound Selection Hunter in TSM.
I had a good amount of bets with varying odds. Sometimes multiple selections for a single race were provided. I wanted to know if it was better to Dutch these multiple selections or treat them as single bets. (Now this can be done in Selection Hunter using the Analysis Features however I already had the bet data loaded into TSM).
Then I remembered that TSM has an Auto Dutch feature where it will detect multiple bets and dutch them automatically for me ! Exactly for this scenario.
Below is a screenshot of my bet data. The date/time of the scheduled off is in Spare 1. This means we can use this column to detect when multiple bets have been placed in the same race. We can see bets 4 and 5 were placed in the same race as were bets 8 and 9.
Go to the App Settings Tab and then select Auto Dutch on Spare 1 as in the screenshot below.
Once setup toggle the On Off Switch for Dutch Mode. We can see in the screenshot below that those bets mentioned earlier have now been combined.
Without Dutch Mode there are 1975 single bets. With Dutch Mode switched on there are 1734 bets. All dutch bets are combined into a single bet and the combined odds are used. We can see the overall profit is more or less the same, however the edge has increased slightly with Dutch Mode switched on.
So what if we wanted to filter on Dutch Bets ONLY. You will notice that all Dutch Bets are combined using the backslash as a delimiter. So we can search on the backslash (/).
Go to Filters (bottom left of main screen) –> None –> Edit Static Filters –> Add / to Filter 17 and Filter 25
Press Save Changes
Then select Filter 17 in the Static Filters Drop Down.
The result is as below where only Dutch Bets are displayed. We can see that the Dutch Bets are actually not profitable.
We can also use the filter NOT LIKE */* (Filter 25 in our earlier screenshot). This shows all the selections but with any Dutch Bets removed. We can see a slight increase in profit over all and an increased edge.
Our research for this system has indicated that it is only really worthwhile placing bets IF there is only 1 selection offered up in this Selection System.
